What we collect when you buy from tellervision.com, why we collect it, who else sees it, how long we keep it and how to get it back. We collect the minimum needed to fill an order and nothing beyond it.

1. Who is responsible for your information
This website is operated by Tellervision Business Solutions Inc. (“Tellervision”, “we”, “us”), manufacturer, owner and distributor of Vision infrared counterfeit money detectors since 1999.
- Based in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Our full postal address is available on request — just ask.
- Email: info@tellervision.com
- Phone: 905-265-7411, answered 24 hours a day
We are responsible for the personal information under our control, and this policy explains how we handle it. It is written to meet Canada’s federal privacy law for private-sector businesses, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
2. What we collect
When you place an order, through Stripe’s checkout page:
- Your name, and your business name if you give one
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your billing address and your delivery address
- What you ordered, what you paid, and the date
When you use the contact form or email or call us: your name, your contact details, and whatever you choose to tell us about what you need.
When you simply browse the site: standard website analytics — see section 6. Nothing in that is tied to your name or your order.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, your date of birth, your SIN, or any government identification.
3. Why we collect it
- To fill your order — take the payment, ship the unit to the right address, and send you a tracking number.
- To contact you about that order — a delivery problem, a question about the address, a return.
- To provide the warranty, the training session and support that come with the detector.
- To keep the business records that Canadian tax law requires us to keep.
That is the whole list. We do not use your information to build a profile of you, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have asked us to contact you.
4. Card details — what we never see
Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 certified payment processor. You enter your card details on Stripe’s own encrypted page, not on tellervision.com.
Tellervision never sees, handles or stores your card number. What reaches us is your name, your contact details, your delivery address, what you bought, and confirmation that the payment succeeded. Stripe handles your payment information under Stripe’s privacy policy.
5. Who else sees your information
Only the people needed to complete your order:
- Stripe — to take and process the payment, and to issue your receipt. Stripe may process this information outside Canada, including in the United States.
- Our shipping carrier — Canada Post or another standard carrier gets your name and delivery address so they can deliver the parcel.
- Google Analytics — website usage only, never your order. See section 6.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers or data brokers.
We may disclose information where the law requires it — a court order, a lawful demand from a government authority, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Information handled by our service providers outside Canada is subject to the laws of the country it is in, and may be accessible to the courts and authorities of that country. This is the ordinary consequence of using an international payment processor.
6. Cookies and website analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site — which pages are read, how long for, and roughly where visitors are. It is aggregated, and it is not connected to your name or your order.
Stripe sets cookies on its own checkout page for fraud prevention and to keep your session working.
The “Ship to” choice on the store section is remembered in your own browser’s local storage so the page opens on the right currency next time. That never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
Your browser can block or delete cookies, and Google publishes a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics. The store works either way.
7. How long we keep it
Order records — who bought what, when, and where it was sent — are kept for as long as we need them to support the product and to satisfy Canadian record-keeping obligations. The Canada Revenue Agency generally requires business records to be kept for six years from the end of the tax year they relate to, and we keep ours accordingly.
Enquiries that do not become orders are kept only as long as they are useful, and are deleted when they are not.
8. How we protect it
- Card numbers never reach our server, so there is nothing there to steal.
- The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- Order notifications and records are held in accounts protected by passwords and two-step verification.
- Access is limited to the people who actually need it to fill your order.
No system is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If a breach ever affected your information in a way that creates a real risk of significant harm, we would tell you and report it as the law requires.
9. Your rights
Under PIPEDA you can:
- Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it — see section 7.
- Withdraw your consent to us using it, subject to what we need to complete an order you have already placed and to our legal obligations.
Email info@tellervision.com and we will deal with it. There is no charge, and we will respond within 30 days, which is the period PIPEDA sets. We may need to confirm who you are first, so that we are not handing your information to somebody else.
10. Children
This is equipment sold to businesses. The store is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The version on this page is always the one that applies.
12. How to reach us, and how to complain
Any privacy question, request or complaint:
- Email: info@tellervision.com
- Phone: 905-265-7411, answered 24 hours a day
- Post: we are based in Vaughan, Ontario. Ask us and we will give you the postal address.
Come to us first — most things are sorted out in one email. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, which oversees PIPEDA.
Our Terms & Conditions cover ordering, delivery, returns and warranty.
